How do you determine the quote for a project?
We typically provide a fixed quote based on the complexity of your plans, but for undefined scopes, we might suggest an hourly rate instead. Send over your drawings, and we will build a custom, transparent proposal for you quickly.
Do you charge for specific file formats?
We deliver standard PDF and Excel files. If you need source files from Revit or specific estimation software exports, just ask. Usually, it’s included. However, very complex formatting requests might incur a minor setup charge.
Is there a discount if I bundle drafting and estimation?
Yes! If you hire Smart Constructs for both the drafting and the quantity takeoff, we can usually shave a percentage off the total. It streamlines our workflow, saving time. So, we pass those savings back to you.
What happens if there is an error in the takeoff?
Estimates rely on current market data and your specific plans. While we can’t guarantee bid wins, we stand by our takeoff accuracy. If we missed something clearly shown on the prints, we will fix it immediately for free.
When is the payment actually due?
For smaller residential jobs, we usually require payment upon final delivery. Larger commercial projects might need an upfront deposit. It helps to get the ball rolling, with the balance due later. Moreover, we accept major cards and bank transfers for ease.
Do you charge extra for revisions or changes?
Minor tweaks are on us during the draft phase. However, if the design scope shifts significantly after we have started, there might be a small add-on fee. Rest assured, we aim to be fair and transparent about any extra costs.
What if I need the estimate done immediately?
Standard delivery takes a few business days. We do offer expedited services for a rush fee. Just let us know your hard deadline upfront, and we will adjust the team’s schedule to make it happen.
Is pricing different for commercial versus residential work?
Commercial jobs often require detailed breakdowns and specific code compliance, so they tend to cost a bit more. Residential quotes are usually simpler. We assess each set of plans individually to ensure you are never overpaying for the service.
